Week 23 - Key Lime Pie *shopping list*

Ive never made this yet and have always wanted to! It may be a simple one for some but like me, maybe you havent tried it before now :)

Ingredients
Base

95g Butter
225g Digestive Biscuits

Topping

Zest of 3 Lime
5fl oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
3 Large Egg Yols
400g Condensed Milk

Off to give little girl a bath before her supper and settle the kids down with a dvd - im thinking it feels like a AstroBoy kinda night :) (Ive still yet to see it, Scott said its sad though and gave me the full run down!* lol )

I knew the hoover was good for something!! lol

Look what it does... ...sent Evie to sleep within 2 minutes!! Clean floor and a sleeping baby at the same time - BONUS!! ;)

Cake and Cutie!!

You know my love of crafting and cakes.........well what better than a combination of both :) This is a look at the class i have designed for the retreat in Amsterdam. There is so much more to this than it seems....but thats a suprise!! :)

Look at this little girl, now weighing in at 9lb 3oz and 7 weeks old - eek where did that time go!! Its as though shes always been here and boy is she worshipped by her brothers! :)

Bo bunny and Twisted Sketch projects plus a couple of new endeavours!!

I love shaped layouts so when Anam gave us last weeks Twisted sketch i knew i needed to use one of the Bo Bunny shaped paper lines as my template for the dark cardstock background. The theme was 'NEW' so i used the stamp 'A New Baby' from Papertrey Ink.

Bo Bunny asked us to make a project using the Roughin' It line. At first look this line screams boys, especially with signs saying No Girls Allowed, Its a Guy Thing, etc. I knew i wanted to make a page using a photo taken of me when we went to Hamstley Forest so wanted to show you cant just judge the papers by first impressions. I think i managed to make it look a little more unisex so hopefully you will use it for girly pics too :) I cut ALL the leaves from a whole sheet of the Roughin' It Leaves paper (yes i have bruises from the scissors!) LOL Some of them are curled and attached using silicone glue to give that raised effect. Lots of the arrows from the sticker sheet and the sentiment was using Thicker Stickers.

The lovely Tracy from Squiggle Stamps has asked me to be the guest designer for June so im really excited about that too as i get to play with some of their fab digital and rubber stamps!

Paella step by step - week 22 :)

Dice the chicken, green beans, onion, pepper and tomatoes.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan/paella pan and heat the onion and pepper until soft but not brown.
Add the chicken and garlic, cook or 7 mins.
Add the rice, tomatoes, tumeric and chicken stock. Cook for 12 minutes.
Stir now and again to ensure a good mix.
Add the green beans and cook for anoth 10 mins.Leave it to cook until almost all of the liquid has been absorbed, it wants to be wet but not soggy!
Serve with thick rustic bread and real butter :)YUMM!!

Tealight Box Tutorial (fits 8) *picture heavy*

I really enjoyed working this out yesterday so ive done a step by step tutorial for you all. These tealights were from Primark and contain 16... ...so make 2 of these box tutorials and you have a couple of really nice thank you pressies for less than £1 each!

Cut a sheet of cardstock 7 3/4 inches x 9 3/4 inches
Place the cardstock so that you are first working on the 7 3/4 inch side. Score 1 inch in from the edge and then 3 inches from your first score mark.
Score 1 inch from the last score mark...
Score 3 inches from the last score mark...
Score 1 inch from the last score mark....you will be left with a 3/4 of an inch strip.
Turn the paper 90 degrees and score 1 inch in from both of the left and right sides.
Fold and make sure all these creases are solid.
Cut as shown below...i have folded the card so you can see which sides to cut.
You need to take away almost all of the 3/4 inch strip that was left over after we did all of the scoring. Leave a small section in the middle which is to be tucked into the back of the box to keep the lid secure.
On the opposite end you need to have a slot for this tab to be folded in to so mark where you need to cut by folding the box over and penciling either side of your tab.
Cut and remove.
On the lid section you need to mark and score a rectangle which is half the size of the lid and half the size of the side panel. Mark in pencil and cut carefully.
Cut out this section and pop double sided tape on the inside of this box around the window...
Because you now have a window you need to trim down the two sides that will otherwise show...
Cut your acetate half a cm larger than your window...
Score and fold securely so that this fold matches up with the side panel of your box...
Secure in place with the double sided tape...
Secure your now trimmed down side pieces.
Fold the sides into the box and fasten the tab into the slot. Fill with your tealights and then comes the best bit...
Decorate as you wish or make things a little easier by using patterned paper to start with!! lol Add co-ordinating embelishments, a sentiment and voila a cute little pressie for under £1! :)
