Please someone help me and tell me what to put on my walls! Ive got the top of the stairs exactly how i wanted them and right now im struggling with pregnancy brain and my creativity has dried up!! Plain wood frames just arent looking right, i dont want anymore mirrors and im not keen on the red frames for photos.................see why im stuck!! LOL 3 WALLS TO FILL!! eek!! Im not a bare wall girl so something has to go there! lol
Charity shop bargains today too - Mrs Beetons make your own jelly!! How sweet is this little rabbit jelly mold!
GORGEOUS HUGE wall sconce! £3.75!! The woman even said she hadnt seen it otherwise it wouldnt have been put out! lol Mwahhhahahaha.....i bought 2 sweet vanilla candles to go on it and it will live in my bathroom as soon as its decorated :)
White frames would work really well against the blue & red. Maybe paint some wooden frames and distress them a little with sandpaper to let the wood show through - would add to the shabby chic look xx
ReplyDeleteYou're right, it needs a feature (using my interior design terminology now! ;-)) because it's a bit blue. Usually you pick out a colour from the wallpaper and use that to make a feature (frame, art work,) or you can go for a contrasting colour. I think something green to compliment the leaves in the wallpaper could work. Or how about a couple of wall lights or scones?
ReplyDeleteYou hall looks wonderful Debbie, I wish I lived there. I wish my DH would aprove of a Cath Kidston hallway. I must show him as I have a houseful of boys too.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds at the charity shop!
Lovely white shabby chic frames would look lovely to match you doors. Please post some more photos when you have sorted it out, love seeing them.
I think I would go for painting aload of different size and shape of frames and hang them imaginatively...literally just the frames or maybe a blk/wte photo in a couple...
ReplyDeleteLooking really good well done xx
Oh wow it looks fab! I wish we had a focus near us, I'd love some of that wallpaper for when I do my bedroom!
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the walls, I'm having enough problems with creativity at the moment and can't blame it on pregnancy LOL! But you're right, it does need something.
Great wallpaper, & looks great on your hall, stairs & landing!! I think shabby, distressed white frames would look lovely. If you're feeling adventurous, could you crackle glaze white over blue. green, or dark pink?
ReplyDeleteI too look forward to seeing this when it's done!!
Take care : )

Forgot to say, I have 3 rolls of the white 'Millie' for a wall in my bedroom. It should be going up this week!!

Wow Debbie that looks fab. I would go with white painted frames. Love that wall sconce you bought - I would have nabbed that one :) x
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, just found your blog through pencil lines and it's all gorgeous! How about white frames to go with the wood work? You can buy the 12x12 ones in white and put some of your lovely layouts up?! xx
ReplyDeleteTake the above comments on picture frames but I would for sure paint the chandelier. Go for red or a contrasting colour to draw the eye to it.

I have that exact jelly mould in glass - it comes from my childhood and well remember my mum filling it with milk jelly and the bottom bit with green jelly (grass) for all my birthday partyies. Great fun!
ReplyDeleteHouse is looking fab Debs and I love the sconce.
