Grown up advent calender :)

...and why not! I love the thought of a little something each day and since im trying to watch my weight and not gain too much this pregnancy i thought it nice to have a little treat each day :) Normally i would open a bag of Blackcurrant and Liquorice sweets and they would be gone within minutes - this way they last all of December! :)

The little sachets are made using 4x2inch strips of patterned paper. I used the new Snowy Serenade papers from Bo Bunny - boy are these gorgeous to work with and so glittery!! Fold the strips in half and then score from the fold line to the half way point at each end .....should look like this.Nip in at both ends and punch a hole with your cropodile or hole punch.
Little numbered 1 - 24 tags are made using the Stampin up oval and oval scallop punch (again Snowy Serenade papers and Bo Bunny Double Dot cream cardstock).Pop a sweet inside, fasten with ribbon and stick your numbered tags on with double sided sticky pads.Drop into your bowl (i knew i bought this one from Laura Ashley with a project in mind honest!!) ;) and decorate with large snowflake, smaller snowflake and glitter brad :)
Sit back and wait for the 1st of December - you know it wont be long! :)

  4. Hi, that looks really pretty! I don't want to rain on your parade, but I was told recently that pregnant women should avoid liquorice, sorry!!

  6. So neat... another idea would be to hang them on a small tree. Since they can be used again each member of the family could have their own color and a bigger tree could be decorated with them. ....

So glad I found your blog.

  10. I spent a very pleasant evening watching Doc Martin whilst cutting and folding these little things....only for one of my son's to be horrified that I was even thinking of not using the advent calenders I had sewn them when they were small! It seems they don't want to be grown up! I will use them for little gifts for visitors instead!Great idea.
