When i was out shopping i picked up some new reading material. I love nothing more than drooling my way through a baking magazine, realising my life is good not being married to a cheating footballer/movie star etc and also reading things that make me feel empowered. Books that really mean something to me and make me feel like i have control over the path that I am on.I thought i would share snippits of something droolworthy from each one.
Feel Good Food...Tesco Free mag...Woman & Home Feel Good Food...Cakes & Sugarcraft...Country Kitchen...Heat (stop laughing i needed some light entertainment too!) and finally The Power, new book by Rhonda Byrne author of The Secret.
Whats your favourite read?? Leave me a comment before midnight on Friday and i will pick a name at random to send some goodies too! Check back on Saturday for the winners name :) Good luck!!
The majority of what I read is online, news articles, blogs etc but nothing beats curling up with a good book. I like reading about dragons, myths, and fictional stories based on historical, religious or scientific fact
ReplyDeleteMost of my reading is online too, but I do have to have my scrapbboking mags each month.
ReplyDeleteWhen I do get to pick up a novel it would have to be a true story for me lately. Just love them. They help me to feel blessed and therefore bless my family.
All of the above mags look great too but the Country Kitchen would have to be my fave. I just love cooking for my family.

I love to read and usually whatever I'm reading my daughter asks if she can read it after me (she's 11!) I love the Twilight series but anything historical or fantasy which suits me, an old woman living in her own world!!
ReplyDeleteI read a LOT! I love anything true crime related or a good horror story. I also have a magazine addiction.....lol. When I am sick or depressed there is nothing cooler than just hangin in bed all day with my stack of magazines!
ReplyDeleteI have 4 subscriptions to mags. Delicious, Good food, Gardeners world and Doctor Who DVD files. Also love the free mags in supermarkets oh and the Waitrose illustrated magazine.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love magazines. Any sort of magazines - fashion, beauty, celeb gossip, dogs/cats, craft, fitness etc.. I have had to cut down my mag buying as it costs a fortune! I still drool all over the glossy mag stands tho..! I also love reading books in the evening. I have read The Secret and have the DVD. I am very interested in all the sort of personal development stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy favourites are big fat cookery books I can take to bed and read like a novel and to the opposite extreme forensic science (James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell) type novels. And finally anything Martha Stewart,

ReplyDeleteMagazines as part of the shopping are a must! I`m a total magazine addict. I subscribe to Papercraft Inspirations, Cross Stitcher and Ideal Home but also love to read the Sainsburys magazine as it has some lovely recipes. As a little treat I sometimes buy Country Living.

I read a lot too - mostky library books - have almost finished my 50th book this year. I do get Good Food and Gardeners World mags but for the price of a decent mag you can now buy a paperback from the supermarket. I like a good book with a strong storyline to draw you in and transport you somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the True Blood books at the moment, very exciting!
ReplyDeletewell please dont laugh but my fav read is my slimming world mag [as I'm being a very good girl] not only is it full of amazing inspirational stories but also some fab recipies that even i can follow.

Hi Debbie
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love reading - all kinds magzines or books. I currently have subscriptions to 2 Cardmaking mags, Ideal Home and Country Living. I cant believe how much money Ive saved by buying this way although it doesnt stop the temptaion of the magazine stand, so Ive probably spent my savings too!
What do you do with your mags? I have some that I save, some that I tear apart (for my inspiration file) and some I even pass on, just wondered what everyong else did.
Hope you're all well

I've recently found Essentials magazine... Just the right mix of affordable fashion & homewares...plus they have a great little cookery section with lots of quick & easy makes!
ReplyDeleteI adore my public library around the corner from where I live.
ReplyDeleteJust started reading:
don't know much about mythology...
great book, really interesting
Otherwise I always have a classic on my nightstand and a lighter one. I also read the newspaper (der Standard)
Love your new project. Too bad I live in Austria, so A scrappy weekend in your dream resort wont be possible.
I adore Pride and Prejudice and never tire of Reading it. My best read recently was The Time Travellers Wife - cried buckets. I read Possession over and over too. Just a romantic really! ; - )
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for the Fall and Holiday editions at the checkout. I just picked up the Fall Baking Cookbook from Taste of Home.(tasteofhome.com)
ReplyDeleteI like these guys because they put together recipes from people all over the U.S. I like when people share their favorite recipes. Apple and pumpkin recipes always make the house warm and spicy and cozy...
Big hugs, Nora
I love to read, although I don't get that much time for a novel at the moment with a young baby who doesn't sleep much during the day! That said, magazines are good to dip in and out of. I like Country Living and Country Homes and Interiors at the moment - for the country home I might have one day!
ReplyDeletewell apart from mags, i love anything by Sophie Kinsella - very girly lol! So delighted that there is a new shopaholic book out - mini shopaholic - can't wait to read it!
ReplyDelete2 books on the go for me at the mo - I don't do mags so much apart from the Radio Times,. I often completely forget to read the listings and just read the letters. They're my fave part. I normally buy craft mags only if I want the gifr on the front - I'm a mag tart!
ReplyDeleteBooks on the go are a non-fiction about the last days of Henry VIII. Very interesting. They now think he had a syndrome that led to his funny shape, piggy face and psychotic behaviour. The other one is 'The Angels Game' by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Hoping it will be as good as 'Shadow of the Wind'. Oopsy nearly forgot - also a Michael Morpugo book that I'm reading to my boy - about a cat in the second world war. So that's 3.
How could anyone not love a good book? my mother calls me an utter book worm - Marian Keyes is great for a chick fix, i have every book of hers. Just finished with True blood series - however LOVE the twilight series! At the moment i am reading Fallen by Lauren Kate and having a problem putting it down!!.
ReplyDeleteI love to read a good thriller - give me Kathy Reichs, Simon Kernick, Karin Slaughter, etc any day! Magazine wise I love a good gossip mag like Love It because it makes my life feel normal hehe x
ReplyDeleteI buy Ideal Home and Country Living magazines every month. They are so inspiring - making me want to keep my home tidy and pretty.
ReplyDeleteI do love a good modern romance to read in the evening when I get time.
I just love my scrap mags - I keep them all for inspiration too :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like 'The Gift' by Cecelia Ahern. I like books that make you think about and appreciate what you have got.
