Its all about the frosting....

This is delicious and because youre not using butter icing its a lot better for you too (ok im not saying healthy but you get what i mean!) lol
INGREDIENTS
  • 200 g white sugar
  • 80 ml water
  • 0.8 g cream of tartar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 5 ml vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a saucepan, stir together the sugar, water and cream of tartar. Cook over medium-high heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is bubbly.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whip the egg whites and vanilla to soft peaks. Gradually add the sugar mixture while whipping constantly until stiff peaks form, about 7 to 10 minutes. Frost the cake of your choice.

Dont skimp on the whisking or the boiling - it is well worth it and well worth waiting just that little bit longer! :) These are now ready for my aunts birthday tea along with the marshmallow mermaid pie :D
